How do I calculate a percentage discount?

Multiply the price by the discount percent to get the savings, then subtract it from the price. So 20% off $100 is $20 saved and a $80 sale price. The tool shows both figures instantly.

How do I find the original price before a discount?

Divide the sale price by (1 minus the discount as a decimal). A $80 item that was 20% off came from $80 ÷ 0.80 = $100. Work back from the numbers the tool gives you.

Can it add sales tax?

Yes. Enter a sales-tax rate and it applies tax to the discounted price for the final total, so you see the real checkout amount, not just the sticker discount.
