Privacy & Cookie Policy

UtilHero provides free, browser-based utilities. We built it to be private by default: the data you type into a tool is processed in your browser and is not sent to, stored on, or logged by our servers. The one exception is the Dynamic QR Code Generator, which has to save your link so the code can point somewhere — it is described below. We do not require an account and we do not sell personal data.
What we collect
Tool data — none, with one exception. Text, files, JSON, colors, and anything else you enter into a tool never leave your device.
Dynamic QR codes — the exception. They work by pointing at us, so we save the destination link you enter and a secret edit link that lets you change it later. Each time someone scans the code we record the date, the country, and whether the device was a phone, tablet, or computer — that is what the scan chart shows. We do not store the scanner's IP address or anything that identifies them. You can delete a code and its whole scan history at any time from its edit link. Only this one tool stores anything; every other tool on UtilHero still works entirely on your device.
Basic technical data. Like any website, our host (Cloudflare) processes standard request information such as IP address and browser type to serve pages and protect against abuse. This is handled by Cloudflare as part of hosting and content delivery.
Analytics & advertising — only with consent. If you allow it, we use Google services described below.
Cookies & similar technologies
We group cookies into three categories:
- Necessary. A small amount of
localStorageremembers your theme (light/ dark) and your cookie choice. These are essential and always on. They set no tracking identifiers. - Analytics. Google Analytics 4 (gtag.js) gives us anonymous, aggregated usage statistics so we can see which tools are useful and improve them. Loaded only if you enable analytics cookies.
- Advertising. Google AdSense shows ads on tool pages so UtilHero can stay free. Until you consent, ads are non-personalized — not based on a profile of you — and use only limited cookies for things like frequency capping and fraud prevention. If you consent, ads become personalized.
We use Google Consent Mode: until you consent, analytics runs cookieless (aggregate signals only) and ads stay non-personalized. Consenting enables personalized ads and full analytics. Declining is a genuine choice — the tools work either way — and you can change or withdraw it any time.
Managing your choices
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time — it is as easy to reject as it is to accept. Open the panel here:
You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser settings, and most browsers let you block cookies entirely.
Third-party services
When enabled, the services above are provided by Google LLC, which acts as an independent controller for the data it receives. Their handling is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Hosting and content delivery are provided by Cloudflare under its privacy policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't collect personal data ourselves, most requests relate to the Google services above — you can control those through the cookie settings and Google's own tools. For anything else, contact us.
