About Click Test

A clicks-per-second counter measures how many times you can click in a set time. Pick a duration, click the pad as fast as possible, and get your CPS score at the end — with your best saved so you can try to beat it. Choose 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 seconds (or a custom time), and use any technique you like. Runs in your browser with no sign-up.

Why the clock length changes your score

CPS is just your clicks divided by the seconds you were clicking, so the duration you pick decides what the number actually describes. A short test rewards a burst: you can hold peak speed for three seconds in a way you cannot hold for a minute. A long one measures stamina, and almost everybody's score drifts down as their hand tires.

The one-second test has a quirk worth knowing. Because the score is clicks divided by one, it can only ever land on a whole number — seven clicks is 7.0, eight is 8.0, and nothing in between exists. That makes it a coarse measure where a single click swings the result by a full point. Five or ten seconds is the usual benchmark for a reason: long enough to average out a fumble, short enough that fatigue has not set in.

Counting clicks against the clock, or just counting?

Two different jobs get called the same thing. If you want to know how fast you can click, you want this: a fixed countdown, a score at the end, and a best to beat. If you want to tally something in the real world — people through a door, cars, birds, reps — you want a tally counter instead, where the number keeps going up and nothing resets when a clock runs out.

The click counter on this site does that second job, and it has its own timer if you need a rate rather than a raw total: start it and you get elapsed time alongside a per-minute figure. Use this page to measure yourself; use that one to measure something else.

Frequently asked questions

What is a good CPS score?
Most people average around 6–8 clicks per second; 10+ is fast. Techniques like jitter and butterfly clicking push higher.
Which duration should I pick?
You can test for 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 seconds (or a custom time). 5 or 10 seconds is the standard benchmark — shorter tests favor bursts, while 30 or 60 seconds test sustained speed.
Can I test butterfly or jitter clicking?
Yes. Use any technique you like — normal, jitter, butterfly, or drag clicking — and the test measures your real clicks per second for that method on the click pad.
How is CPS calculated?
It's simply your total clicks divided by the number of seconds. Click 45 times in a 5-second test and your CPS is 9.0.
Is my best score saved?
Yes, your best CPS is stored in your browser so you can track and beat your personal best.
