About Web & SEO

Getting a page to look right in search results and social previews is guesswork until you can see it. These tools render the actual thing: the title and description as Google truncates them, the card as it will appear when the link is shared, the tracking parameters spelled correctly the first time. Seeing the truncation point before publishing is the difference between a title that reads as intended and one that stops mid-word. Nothing is submitted anywhere — these preview and build markup for you, they do not talk to Google, an analytics account, or a social network.

Search results are truncated by pixel width rather than character count, so a title full of wide capitals is cut sooner than one of the same length in lower case. That is why previewing beats counting. The same goes for social cards: the image ratio, the title, and the description are each handled differently by each network, and a card that looks right in one place can lose its image entirely in another. Front-load the words that matter and the truncation stops mattering.

Campaign links are worth getting right the first time because the mistakes are permanent. Analytics treats parameter values as case-sensitive, so one link tagged Email and another tagged email split a single campaign into two rows that never add up again — and the fix is not retroactive once the clicks have landed. Pick one spelling, lower case, and build every link from the same tool.
